Livestock Keeping
To ensure the availability of organic livestock byproducts on the farm we decided to start off by keeping rabbits for their urine which is used as fertilizer and pesticide.
We will expand to include cattle to use their manure as a source of fertilizer, their urine as pesticide and to conserve the soil fertility.
Modern Irrigation Technologies
With water being a very important and scarce resource in avocado production we employ an irrigation system which ensures optimal use of water per tree and all the other water dependent operations on the farm.
At the bottom of the farm, we have a natural water flow from where water is pumped up to a storage tank. Through gravity each tree is irrigated. We have installed a ring circuit around each tree to maximize the use of water during irrigation on the farm.
Bee Keeping
As part of optimum pollination and to ensure quality fruit, we have dotted a series of well-placed bee hives to facilitate uninterrupted bee activity.
Honey produced on the farm is exceptional and in high demand on the local market.
